CRUMBLE - TOP DESSERT | |
2 tbsp. lemon juice 4 c. fruit, partially drained (reserve juice) 2 tbsp. flour 3 1/3 c. Mission Cake Mix or 1 pkg. yellow cake mix 3/4 c. sugar (unless fruit is sweetened, sweeten to taste) 1/4 c. melted butter Stir the flour into a small amount of the juice to make a thin paste; add the sugar and lemon juice. Stir into the fruit and cook over medium heat until thickened as for pie filling. Spread the fruit filling in a greased 9 x 13 inch baking pan. Sprinkle the top with 3 1/3 cups Mission Cake Mix or 1 package yellow cake mix. Pour the melted butter over the top of the mix; bake at 350 degrees F. for 20 minutes. Serve warm or cold with topping or ice cream . It is also good as is. A large can of pie filling can also be used instead of the cooked fruit. Note: Pie filling isn't usually found on a Mission Field so this recipe tells you how to prepare the fruit for a filling. About any fruit can be used. Pineapple or Guava are both very good. |
