NUT CAKE 
1 1/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. shortening
2/3 c. milk
2 1/4 c. Presto flour
1 c. chopped walnuts

Cream sugar and shortening; add 3 egg yolks. Beat. Add milk, vanilla and sifted flour. Fold in beaten egg whites; add cup of chopped walnuts. Bake in greased and floured tube pan about 50 minutes at 375 degrees.

Note: if regular flour is used, 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt should be sifted with the flour.
