TEXAS SHEET CAKE | |
1 c. butter 1/4 c. cocoa 1 c. water 2 c. flour 2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 c. sour cream 1 tsp. vanilla 2 eggs Mix the first 3 ingredients and bring to boil. Mix together in another bowl the next 4 ingredients; mix all together. To this mixture, add 1/2 cup sour cream, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 2 eggs (unbeaten); mix and pour into greased sheet pan. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350°F. Don't overbake. FROSTING FOR THE TEXAS SHEET CAKE: 1/2 c. butter 1/4 c. cocoa 5 tbsp. milk Bring to a boil and pour over 2 cups powdered sugar. Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla; beat and frost cake while still warm (add crushed walnuts to frosting, if desired). |
