JOY'S COFFEE CAKE 
2 sticks butter
1 3/4 c. sugar
5 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1 can cherry pie filling

Beat first 4 ingredients together until fluffy. Add dry ingredients and stir to mix. Pour 2/3 of batter into greased 9 x 13 inch baking dish. (NOTE: Do not use "Pam".) Top with pie filling; then the rest of the batter. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes. If desired, may be topped with glaze.

GLAZE: Combine 1 cup of powdered sugar with 2 tablespoons milk; stir until smooth and drizzle over coffee cake.
