COUNTRY STEAK 
2 lb. round steak
1 egg, well beaten
1 c. dry bread crumbs
5 tbsp. shortening
2 onions
1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 tbsp. water

Cut steak into serving size pieces. Dip in egg, then crumbs. In hot shortening, brown meat and onions. Add seasonings. Cool pan a few minutes. Add water. Cook over a simmer heat about 1 hour.
