PEPPER STEAK | |
2 lb. beef, cut into 2 x 1/4 inch thick strips 1/2 c. melted butter 1/4 tsp. garlic powder 1/2 c. onion, cut into strips 2 med. green peppers, cut into strips 1 (16 oz.) can stewed tomatoes 1 pkg. au jus gravy mix 1 tbsp. cornstarch mixed with 1/4 c. water 3 tbsp. soy sauce 1 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt (optional) Round or sirloin tip steak is best. TIP: Beef is easier to slice into strips, if partially frozen. Salt is optional, because soy sauce contains alot of sodium. Saute for 2 minutes; return meat to skillet; sprinkle with au jus gravy mix. Add tomatoes and simmer about 5 minutes. Blend together cornstarch, water, soy sauce, sugar and salt.
