BETTY'S BRUNCH CASSEROLE 
16 slices white bread
8 slices cheese (any kind), I use sharp
1 lb. bacon or sausage or ham, cook & break into sm. pieces
4 eggs
3 c. milk
1/4 lb. butter, melted or butter

Cut crusts off bread. Butter 9 x 13 inch pan. Put bread slices on bottom. Place a slice of cheese on each slice of bread. (Sometimes I use grated cheese.) Sprinkle the meat over all. Mix eggs and milk; pour over each slice. Dip the top of remaining bread in melted butter and cover casserole (buttered side up).

Bake 30-35 minutes in a 325 degree oven or until golden brown on top. Approximately 8-10 servings. (Store in refrigerator overnight before baking.) Different variations - add green peppers, mozzarella cheese or anything that "suits your fancy".
