TROPICAL GINGERBREAD | |
1/2 c. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 2 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. ginger 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. molasses 1 c. hot water 1 c. raisins Melt and cool shortening. Add sugar and egg; beat well. Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and spices. Combine molasses and hot water; add alternately with dry ingredients to first mixture. Stir in raisins. Use waxed paper to line a 9 x 9 x 2 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. |
