SALAD SURPRISE 
Raw vegetables
Slivered almonds
Lg. pkg. lemon gelatin
1 c. cottage cheese
1/2 c. mayonnaise

Cut vegetables into small pieces, wedges and cubes, etc. Arrange them in pattern in the bottom of a large cake pan. In a bowl, dissolve the gelatin in 1 1/2 cups boiling water and add 1 cup of cold water. Carefully spoon 1/2 cup of the gelatin over the vegetables. Put cake pan in refrigerator. Meanwhile, beat the cottage cheese and mayonnaise into the remaining gelatin. When the vegetable gelatin is firm, spread the other mixture over the top. Chill and serve.
