L. D. BAND DESSERT 
4 c. flour
1 lb. brown sugar
3/4 c. Crisco
2 c. boiling water
3/4 c. Brer Rabbit molasses (light gold label)
1/4 c. white Karo
1 tbsp. baking soda

Grease and flour a 13 x 9 inch pan. Blend together by hand to form a crumb mixture of the flour, sugar, and Crisco. Set aside 1 cup for the topping.

In another bowl combine the boiling water, molasses, and Karo. Add the baking soda and stir. When the mixture stops foaming, add the first mixture. Pour into pan and top with 1 cup topping. Bake at 350 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
