GRANDMA BATES' DRESSING | |
1/2 c. butter 1 c. chopped onions 3 c. chopped celery 1/2 bell pepper, chopped fine 4 tsp. sage 1 tsp. poultry seasoning 5 c. corn bread crumbs & 5 c. loaf bread crumbs 2 cans cream of chicken soup 3 eggs, boiled, chopped fine Broth of turkey or chicken - 2 to 3 c. or more 1 to 2 c. chopped turkey or chicken Combine celery, onions and saute in butter until tender; add to corn bread crumbs and loaf bread crumbs. Add remaining ingredients except for 1 can of soup. Blend well. Pour into greased baking pan and cook for 1 hour at 350 degrees. Top with 1 can cream of chicken soup, undiluted and cook 5 minutes more. |
