THE GREAT ITALIAN CREAM CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1/2 stick butter
1/2 c. Crisco
5 egg yolks
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. buttermilk
1 c. pecans
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. coconut

Sift flour and baking soda together. Add buttermilk, sugar, butter, Crisco and egg yolks, vanilla and coconut; blend in egg whites. Cook in oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 stick butter
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1/2 c. powdered sugar

Sprinkle with pecans and coconut.
