GRANDMA'S GREAT DATE NUT CAKE | |
4 eggs (unbeaten) 1 c. sugar 1/2 c. oil 1 tsp. salt 1 c. sifted flour 1 lb. pitted dates 4 c. whole pecan halves Combine eggs, sugar and oil; beat well. Add remaining ingredients, mixing well. Place in greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3-inch loaf pan. Bake in slow oven (300°F) for 2 hours. Cake must be started in cold oven. Makes 1 (3 pound) loaf. |
