HOT BACON DRESSING 
4 slices bacon
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. vinegar
1 c. water
Fresh spinach
Fresh endive
Boston or Romaine lettuce, washed, drained & chilled

Fry bacon until crisp. Remove bacon strips to drain on paper towel. Reserve bacon drippings. In small saucepan, combine sugar, salt and cornstarch. Add beaten egg and vinegar; mix well. Add water, crumbled bacon and drippings. Serve over greens.
