HOT BACON DRESSING 
1 1/2 c. diced bacon
1 1/2 c. chopped onion
2 1/2 c. cold water
3/4 c. vinegar
4 tbsp. lemon juice
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. sugar
Salt and pepper

Fry bacon until almost crisp. Add onion and fry until tender, but not brown. Add remaining ingredients and cook until slightly thickened.

Serve warm over lettuce and spinach or over cooked potato slices for German potato salad.
