FLUFFY BATTER BREAD | |
1/3 c. cornmeal 1/4 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 3 eggs 1 c. buttermilk 1 c. sweet milk 2 tbsp. butter Stir or mix dry ingredients. Beat eggs with the 2 milks. Add dry ingredients to liquids. Melt butter in pan in which bread is to be baked. Stir into mixture. Pour immediately into hot pan, place in a very hot oven. (475 degrees) and bake until firm in center (approx. 30 minutes). Test by inserting toothpick or knife. When firm, the bread with not stick to toothpick or knife. |
