SAUCY ROAST CHICKEN 
3-4 lb. chicken pieces (drumsticks, wings, thighs)
several lettuce leaves, for garnish

SAUCE:

1/4 cup soy sauce
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 tbsp. black pepper
a little oil
1/4 cup sugar

Rinse chicken in cool water and pat with dry towel.

Mix soy sauce, garlic, pepper, oil and sugar in a bowl. Then rub chicken with this mixture. Save remainder of the mixture for later.

Put chicken on plate and leave it for 2 to 4 hours in refrigerator.

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Transfer chicken to a roast pan and bake at 350°F for 1 1/2 hours. Turn chicken over and drizzle with remaining sauce. Put sauce every 1/2 hour during roasting.

When done arrange pieces on a bed of lettuce leaves and let it cool down before serving.
