1 c. mass self-rising cornmeal 1/4 c. buttermilk Enough water added to this to make dough mushy not thin Have oil in an iron frying pan and have it reasonably hot. Use a large spoon with water and dip it in the mush and place in the heated pan. You will have to keep adding more oil in the pan as you turn the bread and with a spatula as it browns on each side. |
