OLD FASHIONED APPLE PIE 
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1/2 tsp. ginger (optional)
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
2-3 tbsp. flour
4-5 c. sliced apples

Line 9 inch tin with pastry. Mix sugar, cinnamon, salt, nutmeg, ginger, and flour. Pour above mixture over apples and mix well. Pour apple mixture into pastry. Sprinkle lemon juice over apples and put small dots of butter here and there. Add top crust - cut slits into crust here and here - you may also sprinkle sugar on top crust. Bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes, then at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
