GLAZED FRESH APPLE COOKIES 
1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. nuts
1 c. finely chopped apples, unpared
1 c. chopped raisins
1/4 c. apple juice or milk

Cream shortening, brown sugar and egg. Add 1/2 of the sifted dry ingredients, chopped nuts, apples and raisins. Blend in liquid. Add all the rest of the ingredients and mix well. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 11 to 15 minutes. Spread with vanilla glaze while still hot.

GLAZE:

1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 1/2 tbsp. hot water
1/4 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. butter

Combine.
