GOLDEN POUND CAKE 
1 1/2 c. butter
2 1/2 c. sugar
5 eggs
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 tsp. almond extract

Note all ingredients should be at room temperature. Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease and flour tube pan. In large mixer bowl cream butter. Add sugar. Gradually and cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well between each egg. Sift flour with baking powder and salt. Add alternately with milk to egg and sugar mixture, beating between each addition. Mix in vanilla and almond flavorings.

Pour into prepared pan and bake on center rack of oven 325 degrees for 55-60 minutes or until tester comes out clean. Cool on rack 10 minutes. Trim crown if necessary and invert on plate or rack to cool. Spread cake with your favorite frosting or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
