KENTUCKY BUTTER CAKE 
3 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk

BUTTER SAUCE:

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. water
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Cream butter and sugar. Blend in eggs one at a time. Combine milk and vanilla and add alternately with dry ingredients to creamed mixture. Pour into greased tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 60 to 65 minutes. Leave cake in pan and while warm, prick cake with a fork and pour butter sauce over cake.

Combine ingredients for sauce and cook over medium heat until sugar is dissolved and butter melted. Add vanilla and spoon over cake.
