FREEZER CUCUMBERS 
2 qts. unpeeled, thinly sliced cucumbers
2 tsp. pickling salt

Slice one or more onions (optional). Mix above ingredients and let stand 2 hours.

SYRUP:

1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. powdered alum

Boil ingredients for syrup (celery seed is optional) until sugar is completely dissolved. Cool. Syrup will be sticky. Drain and squeeze cucumbers very well. Mix cukes with syrup and freeze. Makes about 3 pints.
