GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. butter flavoring
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 pkg. German sweet chocolate

Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, flavors and buttermilk. Sift together flour, soda, salt and add. Mix well. Add German chocolate that has been softened in warm oven or in double boiler. Blend together well.

Cook in 9 inch stem pan that has been well greased and dusted with flour. Bake 1 1/2 hours at 300 degrees.

When done, place cake under a tight fitting cake cover while still hot, leave until cold.
