GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE 
1 bar German sweet chocolate
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. butter
3 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
4 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt

GLAZE:

1 bar German chocolate
1 tbsp. butter
1/4 c. water
1 c. 10X sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Partially melt chocolate over hot water. Remove and stir rapidly until melted. Cool. Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs, flavoring and buttermilk. Sift together flour, soda, salt and add to butter; mix well. Blend in chocolate. Pour into well greased and floured 9" tube pan. Bake in slow 300 degree oven for about 1 1/2 hours. Remove from pan while hot. Place under tightly fitting cover until cooled.

GLAZE: Melt chocolate and butter in water over low heat. Mix in 10X sugar. Blend; mix in vanilla. Put glaze on cake after cake is cooled.
