GERMAN CHOCOLATE POUND CAKE | |
1 pkg. Baker's German sweet chocolate 2 c. sugar 1 c. shortening 4 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. butter flavoring 1 c. buttermilk 3 c. flour 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt Melt chocolate over hot water. Stir rapidly until all chocolate is melted. Cool. Mix sugar, shortening, eggs, flavoring and buttermilk. Sift flour, soda, salt; add to shortening; mix well. Stir in chocolate. Pour in 9 inch tube pan. Bake in slow oven, 300 degrees F., for 1 1/2 hours. GLAZE: 1 (4 oz.) Baker's German sweet chocolate 1 tbsp. butter 1/4 c. water 1 c. powdered sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla |
