SWEET AND SOUR PORK | |
1 lb. lean boneless pork, cut into 1 inch cubes 2 tbsp. oil 1/2 tsp. salt 3/4 c. water 13 1/2 oz. can pineapple chunks, drain and reserve 1/2 c. liquid 1/4 c. sugar 2 tbsp. cornstarch 3 to 4 tbsp. vinegar 1 tbsp. soy sauce 1/2 c. green pepper pieces In large fry pan, brown pork in oil. Season with salt. Reduce heat; add 3/4 cup water. Simmer, covered, 20 minutes to 30 minutes until pork is tender. Mix together sugar, cornstarch, vinegar, pineapple liquid, and soy sauce. Add to meat in fry pan. Cook, stirring constantly, until clear and thick. Add green pepper pieces and drained pineapple. Continue cooking, covered, over low heat 5 to 10 minutes. Serve over rice. |
