WAIKIKI MEATBALLS | |
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 2/3 c. cracker crumbs 1/3 c. minced onion 1 egg 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. ginger 1/4 c. milk 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/2 c. brown sugar 1 can (13 1/2 oz.) pineapple chunks, drained, reserve syrup 1/3 c. white vinegar 1 tbsp. soy sauce 1/3 c. chopped green pepper Mix ground beef, crumbs, onion, egg, salt, ginger and milk. Shape into meatballs. Brown in 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes. Put in crock pot once browned. Mix cornstarch and brown sugar. Stir in reserved pineapple syrup, vinegar and soy sauce. Stir until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until mixture boils and thickens. Boil and stir 1 minute more. Pour over meatballs and pineapple chunks and green pepper. Heat through. |
