PERSIMMON CAKE 
1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
3 c. persimmon pulp
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
3 eggs, beaten
1 c. chopped nuts

Bring to boil the shortening, sugar, persimmon pulp and cool. Sift together flour, soda and baking powder. Add to cooled shortening mixture. Add eggs and nuts. Bake in tube pan 50 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees.
