SOUTHERN SPOON BREAD | |
1 c. cornmeal 2 c. milk 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. baking powder 2 tbsp. oil 1 c. milk 3 egg yolks, well beaten 3 egg whites, stiffly beaten Cook cornmeal, 2 cups milk until mixed. Remove from heat, add salt, baking powder, oil and 1 cup milk. Add egg yolks, fold in whites. Bake in greased 2 quart baking dish 325 degrees for 1 hour. Serve immediately. Serves 6. |
