CREAMY SCALLOPED POTATOES 
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
Dash pepper
1 1/2 c. butter
1 lb. potatoes (about 3 lg. ones, pared and sliced thinly)
2 tbsp. finely chopped onion
1 tbsp. butter

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Melt butter. Stir in flour and seasonings. Cook over low heat and stir until bubbly. Stir in milk and heat to boiling, stirring constantly. In greased casserole, layer half of the potatoes and sauce. Top with remaining and dot with butter. Cover and bake for 30 minutes. Uncover and bake for 35 minutes more.
