HAMBURGER BUNS 
1 c. water
2 tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. yeast
1 c. flour
2 tbsp. shortening
1 tsp. salt
2 c. flour

Beat well: 1 cup water, 2 tablespoons sugar, yeast and 1 cup flour. Stir, mix and knead in: 2 tablespoons shortening, 1 teaspoon salt and 2 cups flour. Let stand 10 minutes. Knead 5 minutes. Let rise until double (1 hour). Press flat and cut into 12 circles with large drinking glass. Let rise. When double, bake 8-10 minutes in 450 degree oven.
