CRISP BUTTERY COOKIES 
1 c. vegetable shortening
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. butter flavoring
1 1/2 c. chopped pecans

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Sift dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture. Add flavoring and nuts. Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
