DELICIOUS CHOLENT (MEAT STEW)
A few pieces of meat, depends how much you like, eg flanken, goulash
1-2 potatoes per person
A handful of mixed beans, eg kidney, haricot etc. (soaked in water overnight)
2 handfuls of raw chickpeas (soaked in water overnight)
1 onion
Oil for sauteeing
Hot paprika, salt, black pepper, chili flakes, ground ginger and spices of your choice
1 heaping tbsp tomato paste

Soak the beans overnight. Fry an onion in oil until brown. Add the meat and fry all over until browned.

Add in the beans and chickpeas mixture and 1 cup of water together with the tomato paste and mix. Add in the spices according to your taste. Peel and cube the potatoes and add to the cholent. Add water to just cover and bring to a boil.

Turn down to med-low and cook for at least an hour. The longer you cook it, the better it will taste. Should have a thick consistency so make sure there is enough water that it doesn't burn but not too much that it turns into a soup (unless you like it that way. Some people do.)

Enjoy!!!
