BEEF BARLEY STEW 
1 lb. ground beef
1 c. chopped onion
1/2 c. celery, chopped
2 (18 oz.) cans tomato juice or canned tomatoes
2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1 c. water
1/2 c. barley rice

Brown meat and onions until done in a large pot. Stir in remaining ingredients; heat to boiling. Reduce heat, cover and simmer until barley is done and stew is desired consistency, about 1 hour or so.
