SHAKAVEI 
1 1/2 lbs. round steak, ground
1/4 c. rice, uncooked
1 egg
1 med. onion, chopped
1/2 c. milk
Salt and pepper to taste
Green peppers
1 tbsp. butter
Sm. pieces of salt pork (2 inch sqs.)
1 sm. can tomato sauce
2 c. water

Mix round steak, rice, egg, onion, and milk. Core and remove seeds from green peppers. Place in boiling water 2 to 3 minutes, then drain. Shape meat mixture into small rolls and stuff in green peppers. In a medium pan, melt butter. Add salt pork, tomato sauce, and water. Add stuffed peppers and simmer about 2 hours. This recipe can also be used with cabbage leaves instead of green peppers.
