MARTHA WASHINGTON CANDY | |
2 sticks butter 1 lb. confectioners' sugar 1 tsp. vanilla Pecan halves Cocoa Paraffin wax Have butter at room temperature. Add sugar and vanilla. Work up by hand until well mixed and soft. Pinch off a rounded teaspoon and form into a small oval. This should be the size of pecan half. Mix 1/4 cup cocoa and several shavings from wax. Heat in small saucepan. Test to see if thick enough by dipping an oval into chocolate mix. If not, add more cocoa. Add more wax and cocoa as needed. Immediately after dipping, add pecan halves to top. This has been a community favorite of my mother as long as I can remember. |
