SUGAR CURE FOR PORK 
5 qts. salt (barrel salt) not iodized
1/2 lb. black pepper
2 lb. granulated sugar (white)
1/2 lb. salt peter

Dissolve salt peter in 1 cup boiling water.

Mix dry ingredients in pan then pour salt peter over and mix good.

Rub on meat, let all stick to meat that will, then in 3 days put remainder in the joints (hams & shoulders).

Work into joints real good when rubbing in.
