3 3/4 c. sugar 1 c. water Food coloring 1 1/4 c. light Karo syrup Oil flavoring 10X sugar Stir together sugar, syrup and water. Boil to 300 degrees (hard crack). Remove from heat immediately and add 1/2 to 1 teaspoon coloring and 1 teaspoon oil flavoring. Cover 3 cookie sheets with 3/4 inch 10X sugar. Make troughs with fingers in the sugar and pour the syrup in the troughs. Rake some of the sugar over the poured candy. When cool, break into pieces. |
