HOT CLAM SPREAD 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1 minced onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 (7 oz.) cans minced clams
1/2 c. seasoned bread crumbs
1 tsp. oregano
1 tbsp. parsley
Dash cayenne pepper
1 tsp. lemon juice
1 tbsp. Parmesan cheese

Melt butter, add onion and garlic. Saute until brown. Grease dish and pour into dish. Add bread crumbs, clams, spices, juice, Parmesan cheese. Mix well. Sprinkle Cheddar on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve on cut up rye or dark bread. (If making ahead, freeze after assembling and bake when ready to serve.)
