2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. milk
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. vanilla
You can also add coconut if desired

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs. Combine flour, baking powder and baking soda and add alternately with milk to the creamed mixture. Add flavoring. Drop from spoon. Bake at 350 degrees about 15-20 minutes, depending on size of cakes.
