1 c. Crisco
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tbsp. white vinegar
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1/8 tsp. salt

Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate. Form into balls and dip in sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet on center oven rack. When on cookie sheet, rub bottom of glass in butter, dip in sugar, press cookie to 1/2 inch thick. (These are thick cake-like sugar cookies). Bake at 375 degrees for 8 minutes.
