CHOCOLATE NUT PIE 
4 eggs, separated
2 1/4 c. sugar
Pinch of soda
2 tbsp. melted butter
1 1/4 c. raisins
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
2 unbaked pie crusts

Beat egg yolks until lemon colored. Add 2 cups sugar, soda, butter, raisins, cloves, buttermilk, nuts, cinnamon, allspice; mix well. Pour into pie crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. Beat egg whites until stiff. Add remaining sugar, spread over pies. Brown lightly.
