3 or 4 handfuls of flour Dash of salt Water or milk 1 egg, if you have one Ginger 2 c. molasses (about) Salaratis, can use baking powder 1/2 c. of lard Take 3 or 4 handful of flour and put into a bowl with a dash of salt and salaratis. Wet that up with some water or milk. Add an egg if you have one. Beat good, then add a little more flour if needed, and don't forget the ginger. Oh, pour in about 2 cups of molasses and 1/2 cup of lard. After stirring spread it out on a cookie sheet then bake it in a hot oven. Cut into squares while still warm and remove from pan. These are the best ginger cookies I have ever eaten. I have tried this recipe, I dare you to try it. |
