LASAGNA 
MEAT SAUCE:

1 1/2 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. ground pork
1 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1 lb. (12 oz.) can tomatoes
1 can (12 oz.) tomato sauce
1 1/2 tbsp. parsley flakes
1 1/2 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. salt (optional)
1 tsp. crushed basil

NOODLE MIXTURE:

1-2 lb. carton cottage cheese
1 tsp. parsley flakes
1 tsp. salt (optional)
1 tsp. crushed oregano
1/2 box lasagna noodles (cooked and drained)
1/2 lb. Mozzarella cheese
3/4 c. shredded Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven 350 degrees. Make meat sauce. Cook ground beef, pork, onion, and garlic. Stirring in heavy pan until meat is browned and onions tender. Drain off fat, add tomatoes. Break up with fork. Stir in tomato sauce, parsley flakes, sugar, salt, and basil. Simmer uncovered for 1 hour or until mixture is thick. Mix cottage cheese, parsley flakes, salt and oregano in large bowl. In 9 x 13 lightly greased dish arrange in layers of half noodles, sauce, Mozzarella cheese and cottage cheese mixture. Repeat again. Spread sauce over top. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. Bake for 45 minutes. Let stand for 15 minutes after removing from oven.
