SAUTEED MUSHROOMS 
2 tbsp. butter
1 med. sized onion, thinly sliced
1 lb. mushrooms, thickly sliced
1 tsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 tbsp. sake or dry white wine
2 tbsp. soy sauce

Melt the butter in a heavy frying pan over medium heat; add the onion and cook until translucent. Add the mushrooms, sugar, salt, and soy sauce; stir to blend. Cook over high heat, stirring until liquid is nearly gone, about 5 minutes. Serve immediately. Serves about 4.
