TURTLE COOKIES 
CRUST:

2 c. flour
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 c. softened butter
1 c. pecans, whole halves

Mix flour, sugar and butter in bowl at medium speed for 2-3 minutes. Pat crust firmly into ungreased 13 x 9 inch pan. Sprinkle pecans over crust.

CARAMEL LAYER:

2/3 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar

Over medium heat, mix and cook stirring constantly until surface boils. Boil 1/2 minute and pour over pecans. Bake in 350 degree oven for 22 minutes until entire caramel is bubbly and crust is golden brown.

Topping: Remove from oven, sprinkle 1 cup chocolate chips. Allow chips to melt about 2-3 minutes. Swirl chips. Do not spread! Cool and cut into squares. Makes 3 or 4 dozen bars.
