PRALINE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed dark or light brown sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
1 1/4 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecan pieces (or other nuts)

In a 2 quart saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat; stir in brown sugar until blended. Beat in egg, then flour, vanilla and pecans.

Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls, 2 inches apart, onto ungreased baking sheets. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 8-10 minutes, or until lightly browned and crisp. Remove immediately from baking sheet and let cool on racks.
