1/2 stick butter
2 tbsp. flour
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. milk

Mix in order given. Stir constantly over medium heat until sauce is slightly thickened. Pour heated sauce over slices or squares of pound cake, yellow cake or bread pudding and serve.
