MULLED CIDER 
2 qts. apple juice or sweet cider
1/2 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
2-inch piece of cinnamon stick
1 tsp. whole allspice
1 tsp. whole cloves

Mix apple juice or cider and sugar in large saucepan, add spices. Heat mixture slowly to simmering. Cover pan, simmer 20 minutes, then strain. Serve hot in warmed mugs, garnish with cinnamon stick or an orange wedge, if desired. Makes about 2 quarts. Hint: This recipe also works well in crockpot.
